Garo J. Emerzian, D.P.M., was the first podiatric surgeon to join Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC, in 1994. He provides comprehensive foot and ankle care with expertise in foot & ankle surgery.
Dr. Emerzian is a native of Waukegan, Illinois, who was graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1987 where he played Division I college football from 1983 to 1987. He graduated from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Chicago, IL, in 1992. He completed his residency training in podiatric surgery at Edgewater Medical Center, Chicago, IL, in 1994. After his residency he did a one-year fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at the Center for Orthopaedic Surgery, Park Ridge, IL.
Dr. Emerzian has traveled to Guatemala as a volunteer foot surgeon with Healing the Children, Inc., to perform surgery on children with congenital and paralytic foot and ankle disorders. He is also a volunteer with Health Reach Clinic in Waukegan, IL.
Dr. Emerzian is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot Surgery, and Reconstructive Rear Foot and Ankle Surgery, and by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopaedics.
